Need an index on logistic costs ?

Posted by Céline on mars 9th, 2007

Logistic companies dreamt about it, TLF and TL&Associés made it true : the index on the logistic costs exists and is updated every quarter.  It gives a general trend (with seperate heading of costs) on the economic model of a warehouse and covers the whole of the logistic activities (transport excluded).

The index itself is made of three sub-indexes:

  • the STORAGE index that gathers the costs related to the surface dedicated to storage (cost of the building, loads, maintenance, guarding, tax, equipment of the warehouse)
  • the SERVICES index that relates to the costs depending on the level of activity (materials handling, direct personnel costs, consumable, local overheads (indirect staff))
  • the SUPPORT index that covers the expenses with structure (staff and others)

there is also a COMPOSITE index that gives an overall trend.

11 companies take part in the panel: Samada, STEF-TFE, DHL, HEPPNER, GEFCO, DAHER, LAHAYE, MORY LOGIDIS, TMF, EASY DIS, KUEHNE+NAGEL
