According to the democratic on-line vote of the Next Web Conference, Wakoopa, is the winner of the Next Web start-up competition (Best On-stage Start-up). It is an Amsterdam-based start-up (The Netherlands) that had been created in May 2007. Its activity : new social network site for software.

The others winners of the competition are :
Most Entertaining site : LastFM (UK)
Best Social Site : StudiVZ (Germany)
Best Company : Hyves (The Netherlands)
Most influential Web Celebrity : Loic Le Meur (France)
Best Weblog :  DutchCowboys (The Netherlands)
Rookie of the year service : Glubble (UK).

These awards had been organized in collaboration with Techcrunch UK & France , Loogic & The Next Web Blog.

As you can read, a focus on the NL start-ups ! Don’t think it is a Dutch event : start-ups and people who attended were from USA, Spain, Russia, France, Italy, Finland, Sweden, etc…
