Just4U2know : nice and zen “Starry Garden” at Paimboeuf (Estuaire 2007-2009-2011)

by Monique

11 juil 2008

The “Starry garden” is a work of Kinya Maruyama, a Japanese artist, made in connection with the Paimboeuf inhabitants.

It is one of the 6 pieces of work Estuaire Nantes <> Saint Nazaire 2007-2009-2011 that are installed permanently between Nantes and St Nazaire along the Loire.

Yes, the 5th other works (described on Invest in Europe blog) are nice and interesting : “Les anneaux - D. Buren & P. Bouchain, “Did I miss something ? ” - Jeppe Hein, “L’Observatoire” - Tadashi Kawamata, “Suite de Triangles Saint Nazaire 2007″ - Felice Varini and “Misconceivable” - Erwin Wurm (please tell that this work must be installed permanently in Le Pellerin !).

But I do prefer the “Starry Garden”.
To understand why, now, watch a piece of a video about the “Starry Garden” and listen to the bells and the wind ! So nice and quiet !

Some exhibitors and experts of CTS discovered Nantes after the event

by Monique

30 juin 2008

During the 6th June pm and evening, Invest in Western France and Nantes Metropole welcomed some exhibitors and experts of the CTS - California Tech Showcase in Nantes to show them some places of this city.

We went on having talks with them during a relaxed programme in Nantes.
It had been a pleasant time and made Californian people as well as European ones discover Nantes after La Baule where they stayed during the World Investment Conference.

Below some pictures of the relaxed programme which was : private cruise discovery on the Erdre, guided tour of the Machines de l’Ile (many thanks to Pierre Orefice for his explanations) - the elephant and the machines fascinated our guests ! Last but not least : an evening “cheese and wine” and … dried sausage with a course of wine tasting.
